The Brief
This customer built a side extension to their house to extend the kitchen, install a new one and increase storage space. The old kitchen lacked storage and they wanted to incorporate an informal dining area. The customer wanted a contemporary shaker style kitchen; they also wanted to incorporate a range cooker and American style fridge.
The Solution
The customers choose the Bradmore veneered, shaker style kitchen, which is exclusive to Fine Finish, in charcoal and alabaster, charcoal for the base units and alabaster for the wall units. The extension created interesting shapes and all the units were made to measure. The base unit and wall unit near the glass panel door are non-standard, slim units, they create additional storage space and the glass doors and lights in the wall unit add nice detail to the kitchen.
Around the sink the worktops are Silestone, Lyra, Quartz the surfaces in the rest of the kitchen are block oak worktops.
Design Features
One wall in the kitchen has narrow units; the units are wider when space allows creating the housing for the American style refrigerator. These units are also floor to ceiling to create more cupboards/storage space.
Not having wall units where the roof slopes keeps the space feeling open, floating shelves have been fitted to create storage and display space.
Top Tip
Combining kitchen worktop materials is bang on trend, can zone a space and provide texture and interest.
