Bradmore Alabastor Kitchen

The Brief:

This client wanted a complete change of kitchen layout, which included moving the hob and putting in a range. They didn’t want to retain any elements of the old kitchen. Their wish list included a breakfast bar and seating for four people plus the range. They wanted a warm, modern, sociable space where friends and family could sit and relax whilst dinner was being cooked.

The Solution:

Fine Finish designed and manufactured the new kitchen. The kitchen has Bradmore styled doors, which is exclusive to Fine Finish. To install the range, the hob was removed and a mantel was built to accommodate the range, the mantel was fitted with a canopy extractor. The breakfast bar was built after the range was installed. There wasn’t quite enough space for a standard size breakfast bar; the space behind needed to be retained so people could comfortably walk past. We built a bespoke size; slightly smaller breakfast bar to make sure the space wasn’t compromised. We completed all the electrical works and re-plastered the room before installing the new kitchen.

Key Design Features:

Building the mantel and the breakfast bar are the biggest changes to this kitchen all of which had to be built to bespoke sizes. We built cupboards under the breakfast bar making the most of the space. These cupboards aren’t easily accessible but they are great for storing those items that we don’t use that often. The wine rack and small unit next to the range were built to fit the space.

The kitchen has been fitted with wood effect laminate worktops in Tobacco Oak. The upstands and the window sill have been finished with the same material. The under cabinet lighting is a nice touch and creates warm, atmospheric lighting in the evenings. Fine Finish built the dresser with the glass doors. Again a bespoke element to the kitchen that creates storage space.

Top Tip:

Glass doors on cabinets can look great and help to create a light and airy feeling. If creating space is important think about the interiors of the units, for example larders and corner storage units.
