The Brief
This couple live in a split-level bungalow on the outskirts of Nottingham. The garage is below the house and there are steps up to access their home. There is a sizeable space at the bottom of the internal stairs from the garage that lead to the kitchen. The clients felt that this was dead space that they wanted to turn into a useable storage area for preparing food and baking. They also had a lovely collection of Le Creuset crockery that they wanted to display. The idea was for a pantry type area. They wanted dark coloured units, space for a second refrigerator, open shelving at set heights to accommodate specific items and open drawers for storing vegetables etc.
The Solution
A dream pantry! We designed an area that meets all of their storage requirements. The floor to ceiling units are built using veneered oak in Granite (colour) with Ivory Spice Granite worktops and splashback. There is a lot of open shelving, a run of three drawers and plenty of space for baskets. The units are constructed around the different levels in the walls and the lintel. Finally, under cabinet strip lighting has been fitted.
In addition to the units we supplied and fitted laminate flooring that complimented the granite worktop.
