Our customers wanted to create a library area in their open plan living space to display their many books (not all shown in the images as they were still in storage!). To add ambience in the evening they asked for the shelving to be lit and also wanted a modern design which coordinated with their kitchen at the opposite side of the room (also designed by Fine Finish).

The Brief
THE SOLUTION & KEY DESIGN FEATURES
We used a frame around the whole bookcase in a combination of walnut and white to add a lovely detail which gives a modern yet characterful design. The underside of the shelves were routed to incorporate integrated LED lighting and the drawer fronts were in the walnut finish to add another lovely contrast that also mirrored some off the detailing in the adjoining kitchen.
