Coloured units are dominating the trends this year and people are becoming bolder when adding pops of colour to their kitchens but how do you get it right?
Choosing the colour scheme for your new kitchen is a big decision and can be quite daunting. The classic white, cream and neutral colours are still hugely popular however more and more customers are choosing to add two tone units or pops of colour, some are pretty pastels others are bright and bold.
Two-tone colour split cabinets.
Two-tone kitchens are achieved by choosing two different but complementing colour of cabinet for different areas of the kitchen. This could be split between floor and wall cabinets or perhaps lighter or darker areas of the kitchen.
Two-tone cabinets are an easy way to introduce colour, with the right colour choices it can be applied to kitchens of any size and either contemporary or traditional designs.
Smaller kitchens will benefit from lighter colours, for example blue and white. Larger kitchens can create a dramatic effect using deep colours like teal or purple and slate and grey.
Statement Colours
If you are looking to create a colour focal point in your kitchen, a different colour island can work really well if you have the space. The colour you choose can help create the overall style you are aiming for, for example; greens can add a country feel, reds and oranges are Mediterranean and fun, greys are contemporary and blues can be bright and fresh or warming and elegant depending on the shade. This is a perfect way to introduce darker shades of colour into your kitchen design.
Uniform Colour Scheme
Full coloured units are another option. This is all units in the kitchen are the same colour. Greens and blues are popular for this style. A handless cabinet will keep all the focus on the colour and won’t risk the kitchen feeling cluttered or busy. We would advise lighter colouring for walls and floors to avoid clashes and making the room too dark.
