Modern kitchens are more than just a functional space. They are a lifestyle, a design statement, the central hub of the home…
More than ever we are seeing open plan or, to term a new phrase, ‘broken plan’ homes in which families are living, eating and cooking together in one combined space within the home. With this way of living comes the challenge of storage. Gone are the days when a cluttered kitchen can be shut away behind closed doors.
Fear not! There are some incredibly clever and quite beautiful storage solutions available, from corner carousels, tambour sliding doors, pull-out larder solutions and the increasingly popular bi-fold or pocket door pantry cupboards.
Small appliances such as a microwave oven or coffee machine can be built-in at eye level for ease of access and to keep worktops clear. A boiling water tap can replace your kettle for instant and efficient hot water for cups of tea and filling pans. Cupboards can be fitted with electrical sockets to allow you to keep your food mixer or smoothie maker closed away when not in use, but open the door to use them without having to move them.
Integrated rubbish and recycling bins hidden within a cupboard are another neat trick to keep your kitchen looking sleek and tidy.
We have a great selection of storage solutions on display in our showroom, but here’s a taster of the options from recent projects…
