The Brief
An extension created a new open plan kitchen dining area at this couple’s home in Nottingham. The couple had definite ideas on what they wanted; an industrial styled kitchen with integrated appliances and a finished result that was sleek and minimalist. They wanted stainless steel worktops and a tambour unit that stored breakfast items and small appliances; kettle, toaster.
The Solution
An L Shaped kitchen with central island with Fine Finish Stanton Units in Neptune Navy. The banks of units on one side of the kitchen are all drawers to give the clean lines that the customer wanted. The vertical units are floor to ceiling; all units have concealed hinges and stainless steel metal rail opening system. The central island seats two and has push to open storage units to keep the smooth lines.
We built an oak cutlery drawer and wooden crockery dividers, practical and stylish. Great when you have lots of drawer units in your kitchen.
The wall units are push to open and are fitted with LED strip lighting in warm white.
Key Design Features
The tambour unit is a key feature in this kitchen; it accentuates the industrial feel and is useful for hiding worktop essentials contributing to the uncluttered look the customer wanted. The steel metal opening system for all units adds to the industrial feel and is perfect when you don’t want door knobs or handles.
