The Brief
To design and build a fully fitted office space for a husband and wife who both work from home. Shelving, hidden file and printer storage and an open bookcase were all required.
The Solution
We worked alongside the couple’s interior designer to create an office space that reflects the overall aesthetic of the home. We used walnut veneer (also mirrored in the other main rooms) to create this stunning workspace with views over the garden. The desk top is made from the same material as the cupboards and drawers to give a streamlined look and we designed a mixture of open and closed shelving to add an interesting feature to the bookcase.
Key Design Features
The desk extends into the window itself to provide an extra deep workspace and a sleek finish, rather than having a separate sill.
The drawer fronts below shelves have a slatted frontage which adds a lovely texture. Notice how the grain of the walnut continues across all of the drawer fronts to give a consistency across the cabinetry. It’s these little details that elevate our designs.
Top Tips
If you want to make sure you can store something in particular then let us know as we create your designs – the drawers in this study were made to measure for wrapping paper tubes! All our cabinetry can be made fully bespoke, designed to suit your own specific needs.
