The Brief:
This home office was the first project in this client’s new house. They had recently retired from running their own business and needed a room in which they could store all the documents and files. They also wanted a hanging section for coats and a safe. The room wasn’t purely for storage it also needed a desk for one/two people to work at. They wanted a light, bright, contemporary modern look.
The Solution:
The clients choose a style, colour and finish of door that they liked in the showroom. The door can be used for kitchens, bedrooms and home offices/study. The door is a cream acrylic door with a high gloss, supermatt finish. It is bright, contemporary and 100% customisable. We built a bank of units, with an integrated open bookshelf near the window across one wall and a desk with a space underneath wide enough for two people to work at.
Key Design Features:
This is a fairly straightforward design, however it is all custom built to the clients specific sizes. The cupboards are fitted out as per the client’s requirements for example, they have a deep shelf to accommodate a printer and shredder, suspension file drawers and cut outs for power sockets.
Top Tip:
The inclusion of an open bookcase makes the corner space more accessible, it breaks up the run of gloss units and adds a nice feature to the room.
Think about the detail. The desks are topped with oak worktop and the same material has been used on the window sill.
