The Brief

The home of this customer had just been extended and the kitchen space was a new part to the property making the kitchen a blank canvas. The family wanted a very modern, almost industrial style to their kitchen. They wanted it to be sleek and contemporary with clean lines, creating an open plan, cooking, living, dining area. They wanted the utility room to flow through with the same style as the kitchen.

The customer had seen specific items including a sink and worktop that they liked but they were struggling to find exactly the kitchen units they were searching for. Fine Finish provided the solution. As a reseller of Second Nature kitchens and a builder of bespoke kitchens, they were able to combine the two and integrate with a range of other suppliers and products to deliver a dream kitchen.

The Solution

The starting point for this kitchen was the Remo Elm Second Nature Door that the customer liked. The design began over a coffee from there. To meet the family’s needs for storage, features and space this kitchen is a blend of bespoke and Second Nature units. The design elements that the Second Nature units could not accommodate were made at the Fine Finish Nottingham workshop, making the kitchen unique and perfectly matching the customer’s wish list and requirements.

Fine Finish doesn’t supply appliances with their kitchens; giving all customers complete freedom over the type, quality and price they pay for appliances. This customer selected and sourced all the appliances which Fine Finish fitted.

The kitchen features a bank of ovens, with an integrated fridge on one side and freezer on the other. There are two large feature drawers below.

The unit doors are porcelain in colour with elm panelling wrapped around the units which has also been used as a splash back. The upstand is the same as the worktop, all these elements make the lines sleek and continuous. The utility has the same units, worktops and splash back.

Design Features

There is no denying that this kitchen is an incredible room to this executive family home. It has many great features, one of our favourites is the tall clothes drying/airing cupboard. No more laundry cluttering guests rooms and great for storing laundry that needs to air slightly before it is put away. Because they are so useful and convenient we supply and fit lots of them now but we still love a 3 in 1 boiling tap, they are a great feature in any kitchen.

Top Tip

Kitchen lighting needs to flexible to reflect the wide range of functions which kitchens are now used for. For mood lighting, plinth LED’s have been fitted within this kitchen which create a real wow factor.
